I am proud to welcome you to Meydan, the opening of which marks the culmination of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai's vision, to create a facility where horses, sport, business and lifestyle seamlessly combine. With Meydan, we have added a brand new dimension to horseracing unlike anywhere else in the world.

Meydan is derived from an Arabic word which means a place where people congregate and compete. And in that same vein, we will soon welcome race goers and guests from the world over.

The landmark Meydan Grandstand and Racecourse are integral parts of the overall Meydan master plan and is the first district and phase to be presented to the public. It is a venue that promises an unprecedented experience for racing enthusiasts and personnel alike, where luxurious surroundings and premier hospitality perfectly complements the world-class action happening on the tracks.

Our heritage at Nad Al Sheba has undoubtedly contributed to the advancement of the sport of horseracing, here in the region and the rest of the world. As we move towards the future and a new era of racing at Meydan, we hope that you will share in our excitement and pride as the countdown to the first race begins. With the start of the Dubai International Racing Carnival on January 28, and the lead up to the illustrious 15th Dubai World Cup on March 27, Meydan will truly be where the world races.
