Jaguar Style Stakes

 

Jaguar is proud to be associated with the Style Stakes competition at the 2012 Dubai World Cup. Following the incredible number of entries to the last year’s Jaguar Style Stakes competition, we’re expecting the fiercely contested 2012 Dubai World Cup “Best Dressed Lady”, “Best Dressed Man”, “Best Dressed Couple”, “Best Hat” and competitions to attract even more contestants, as Dubai’s increasingly style conscious racegoers battle it out for the fantastic prizes on offer.

 

Registration:

Registration forms will be available on Dubai World Cup day (March 31, 2012) from all Jaguar Style Stakes Registration desks located at Level 1, Concourse A, C & D and from the Jaguar Style Stakes Arena. Contestants must present themselves with a completed registration form, at the Jaguar Style Stakes Arena located in the Apron Views. All entrants must be 21 years of age or above to enter.

 

Jaguar Style Stakes Schedule:

2:00 – 4:45pm Registration
5:05pm Preliminary Judging of Style Stakes Lady
5:50pm Preliminary Judging of Style Stakes Couple
6:20pm Preliminary Judging of Style Stakes Man
6:45pm Final Judging & Prize Presentation

 

 

Below are useful tips indicating what the judges are looking for and what is considered inappropriate:

Dress Code for Best Dressed Lady, Man, Couple and Hat:
Participants entering the “Best Dressed Lady”, “Best Dressed Man”, “Best Dressed Couple” and “Best Hat” competition
should be aware that the judges are looking for style, originality and attention to detail as well as appropriateness of theoutfit for a raceday.
• Hats/fascinators are essential for ladies
• Appropriateness of the outfit for races
• Interpretation of current trends
• Suitability of outfit to wearer
• Style and originality
• Attention to detail
• Grooming and deportment
• Coordination of ensemble
• Entrants must be 21 and above
 
The following list, whilst not exhaustive, would be considered inappropriate:
• Bare heads (hat or fascinator is essential)
• Revealing attire, i.e. miniskirts/dresses, plunging necklines, bare midriff, or clothing made of see-through materials
• Evening gowns
• Arriving late
• Contestants going on stage wearing sunglasses
• Under 21 years of age – all entrants must be at least 21 or older
