DRC QUARANTINE FACILITIES
These facilities are located adjacent to Meydan Racecourse and approximately 25 minutes drive from Dubai
International Airport.
• International Stables are primarily used for EU horses; in the event of overflow, EU horses
will also be accommodated in an alternate Quarantine facility.
• Non-EU horses will generally be accommodated in Dubai World Cup Quarantine situated
alongside the International Stables.
Apart from housing horses in the most modern facilities available, we can also offer stable staff excellent on-site
accommodation (limited availability). Breakfast and dinner will also be available in the cafeteria of the quarantine
stables for visiting staff.
Included in the staff accommodation is an administration office with internet access and telephone and facsimile lines.
ALL OTHER HORSE RELATED COSTS SUCH AS VETERINARY FARRIER AND FEED ETC ARE TO
BE MET BY THE OWNER/S.
AED50 (APPROX US$15.00) FOR HAY AND BEDDING WILL BE CHARGED PER DAY PER HORSE.
EXCEPT FOR THOSE THAT ARE REQUIRED TO ENTER PRE-EXPORT QUARANTINE, SUBSIDIES
WILL END SEVEN (7) DAYS AFTER THE HORSE’S FINAL RUN AT MEYDAN RACECOURSE.
FOR THOSE HORSES REMAINING IN THE DRC QUARANTINE STABLES AED2,000 PER MONTH
(BOX RENTAL ONLY) WILL BE CHARGED.
IN ALL DRC QUARANTINE STABLES THERE WILL BE NO COST RELATED TO:
• Provision of boxes
• Limited on-site accommodation (shared basis, allocated according to the number of horses)
• Security staff
• Use of any Meydan Racecourse training facility
• Use of a shared administrative office
• Catered breakfast and dinner for DWCC accommodated staff only
• All electricity and water
• Horse transport to and from Meydan Racecourse when engaged to race
Also, the Dubai Racing Club will supply a minimum of two grooms/attendants for each barn, in either of the
Quarantine facilities, who may be utilised by any occupying trainer.
PLEASE NOTE: The DRC grooms are there to assist the visiting staff only and will NOT be held responsible for the
care of the horses. The horses are the responsibility of the trainers’ staff at ALL times and DRC staff will not be
held responsible for the horse/s in the absence of a trainer or his/her employee.
DWCC ACCOMMODATION & STAFF ARRANGEMENTS ACCOMMODATION
Employees of DWCC trainers will be accommodated in shared accommodation, at either:
• the International Stable accommodation above the stable blocks; or
• the Dubai World Cup Quarantine accommodation; or
• the Dubai World Trade Centre Hotel Apartments
Any employees who wish to live elsewhere may do so at their own expense.
The stable apartments are equipped with a kitchen (with microwave) suitable for preparing food, hot drinks, etc.
All apartments are equipped with satellite TV, bedding, towels and kitchen equipment prior to the arrival of
employees.
Within the administration block on-site at the Quarantine facilities, is a recreation/games room, TV room, laundry
and a swimming pool.
In the main administration building at the International Stables, an office facility is set up with internet access and
international telephone and facsimile lines. These facilities are also available at the DWC Quarantine.
On-site accommodation is approximately a 10-minute drive from the closest amenities. Car hire is popular for
staff residing on-site (please see Car Hire form for price options and details - page 11-12).
Regarding staff accommodated off-site (Dubai World Trade Centre Hotel Apartments) Dubai Racing Club is
responsible for room charges only. If,
post check-out, any accumulated charges are outstanding or if there is damage to the suite, the cost will be
forwarded to the trainer.
COMPLIMENTARY ACCOMMODATION ALLOCATED AS FOLLOWS:
1 – 2 horses = 1 person 3 – 4 horses = 2 people
5 – 7 horses = 3 people 8 – 10 horses = 4 people
ACCOMMODATION DEPOSIT
Each trainer will be required to deposit AED 1,000 damages security for each staff member accommodated on-
site. The full amount will be refunded upon the departure of the staff member if the apartment/room has not
sustained any damage.
PLEASE NOTE: All requests pertaining to accommodation and/or the facilities should be directed to the
appropriate Quarantine facility manager (please find details in Contacts Directory).
GUESTS
No overnight guests are permitted in accommodation provided by the DRC without prior permission of the club.
Emergency requests made in writing to the International Department of the Dubai Racing Club will be responded
to on a case-by-case basis. Please note that only requests for direct family to stay with you on a limited basis of
no more than 10 days will be considered. Please contact a member of on-site staff for an application form that
needs to be submitted along with the written request and a clear passport copy of the intended guest.
PLEASE NOTE: Due to quarantine & security rulings, no children are permitted to stay on-site at any of the DRC quarantine facilities.
LAUNDRY
A laundry for horse related items (i.e. saddle cloths, girths) will be provided at the yard and can be arranged
through the Stable Foreman.
A self service laundry for DWCC staff will also be provided at both Quarantine facilities, and is situated in the
administration block.
SHUTTLE SERVICES
A shuttle bus service to and from the Quarantine facilities and Dubai World Trade Centre Hotel Apartments will be
provided at pre-arranged times, for the international staff accommodated by the DRC.
The schedule will include timings for both morning and afternoon stables. Please check Bus Schedules displayed
at the Quarantine Admin offices.
ALL SUBSIDIES WILL CEASE AFTER APRIL 30, 2012VISAS WARNING!!!
ALL WORKING STAFF OF ANY NATIONALITY coming to Dubai (i.e. head lads, grooms, work riders,
assistant trainers) potentially staying longer than one month are required to apply for a “DWCC/DWC
SPECIAL VISA”. The visa application form can be found in Compulsory Forms and ERA/DWCC Forms
and Applications.
PLEASE SPECIFY ON THE APPLICATION FORM MAXIMUM INTENDED LENGTH OF STAY.
As stipulated on the visa application form, 3 photos (not Polaroid) and a clear copy of your passport
MUST accompany each visa application.
The “DWCC/DWC SPECIAL VISA” will allow working staff to remain in the country for the duration of the
Dubai World Cup Carnival/Dubai World Cup.
VISIT VISA (NON-WORKING STAFF)
Many nationalities no longer require a visa for entry into Dubai (see list below). All other passport holders must have a visa issued
prior to their arrival. Any person requiring a visa, must complete the visa application form (which can be found in ERA/DWCC
Forms and Applications), and return it, together with a scanned copy (preferable to a photocopy) of the applicant’s passport. All
visit visas are valid for one entry only and are valid for a stay in the UAE for a maximum of 30 days.
Non-working visitors coming to Dubai from the following countries no longer need to apply for visas in advance of travel: Andorra,
Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, Cyprus, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Japan,
Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malaysia, Malta, Monaco, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, San Marino, Singapore,
Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, U.K., U.S.A., Vatican.
Visitors are requested to advise if they have an Israeli stamp in their passport so that the Dubai Immigration Authority can be
notified accordingly to prevent security delays on arrival. Please note that this does not in any way prevent entry into Dubai.
IMPORTANT: Due to a new ruling from the General Naturalization & Residency Department, three colour passport size photos
(not Polaroid) MUST accompany each application for a visa transaction.
